The House of Ramirez has for well over a century (since 1882!) constructed the finest quality classical instruments played by many of the world's top recitalists including the legendary Andres Segovia, Narciso Yepes, Julian Bream, Xuefei Yang, Alexandre Lagoya, Christopher Parkening, Kazuhito Yamashita, Liona Boyd, Laurindo Almeida, Alirio Diaz, Jose Luis Gonzales, Antonio Lauro, Oscar Ghiglia......
The Professional 1a instruments are now subject to limited production. The Tradicional Model was designed some forty years ago by Jose Ramirez III. It has a special interior construction.
This instrument also features wonderful Madagascan Rosewood. This stunning precious tonewood is now being used by Ramirez in place of Brazilian Rosewood. In common with its Brazilian cousin, its sound is incredibly rich and powerful, but it also seems to add an extra warmth to the tone without sacrificing articulation.
The tone in all respects is typical of Ramirez - fine, warm, refined, a flexible and responsive palette saturated with colour, powerful basses, singing trebles - a sound which embodies a particular character developed from the accumulated experience of 125 years' professional guitar lutherie.
