Teodoro Gregorio Perez was part of the team of great luthiers at the workshop of Jose Ramirez in the 1960s, where he worked for twenty-six years. A highly successful partnership with Mariano Tezanos followed, after which the two luthiers went their separate ways. The workmanship on Teodoro's instruments is outstanding, and their tone is characteristic of the best work of the Madrid luthiers.

This instrument is an immaculate example of Teodoro's wonderful work, right at the pinnacle of its class.
The transparency and sensitivity which is so typical of Teodoro's instruments is here combined with a softness and profound depth of volume and power fit to delight the most exacting and demanding of concert performers. The guitar has a luminous brightness without any hint of a hard edge to the trebles, which nevertheless contain many subtle details to their tonal palette. With a smooth balance right down to the depths of the bass registers, the tone at the same time is infinitely shapable to produce a wide range of hues with the slightest adjustment of left- or right-hand position.
The workmanship is impeccable, as is the rule with Teodoro's guitars - looking like the fine details have been assembled under a magnifying glass. The whole effect is finished with a silky French-polish which reveals the grain of the wood and probably contributes in part to the instrument's wonderful tone.
